Moving into my apartment

I wake up at 6:45am Japan time. By 10:00am, I need to check out of my hotel room and meet two people from the company who will take me to my new apartment. So I packed my bags and checked out at 9:50am. I had 10minutes to spare so I sat down waiting to meet the people from the company. Sure enough at 10am , these two girls who was hired by the company was there and this marks the beginning of a long day. The two girls that I met were Chiaki and Ayaka. They are in the picture with me. Chiaki is the one on the left and Ayaka is on the right. They were both pretty cool. We were all joking and clowning around the whole time. They kept me awake and took my mind off the long ride. These two accompanied me everywhere that day and really helped me out. I would not have been able to get a lot of things accomplished if it wasn't for their help. I won't see them again until I come back to Nagoya for training.
The drive from Nagoya(3 hours southwest of Tokyo) to Hekinanshi-the area where I live was about 2 hours. I had a meeting with the real estate agent at 12:00pm. The real estate agent would give me the keys have me sign a few papers and explain some rules to me.
Here are some pictures of my apartment, I have some videos too. Once I learn how to put the videos up , I will have them for everyone to see. I'll also have more pics of my apartment shortly.

My Hotel

As soon as the president of the company picked me up at the airport, She told me that I will stay in a hotel for one night and then move into my apartment the following day which was August 21st. I was excited and I couldn't wait. I thought I would nhave to wait for a week to see my apartment but I guess I was fortunate enought to be able to move in first. To me , It felt like I was just cruising right along in Japan.
Now back to the hotel, I've never seen such small elevators before. Since I couldn't fit all of my luggage which was 3 bags on one trip, I had to make two trips in order to get all of my luggage. Here are some pictures of my hotel room and the food I ate. The 1st picture with food in it has 3 things-1. Premiage-Ice Cream cookie, 2. Strawberry Yogurt, and 3. Another ice cream. The next picture is the equivalent of a TV Dinner. However on this one, I can eat it cold. Its noodles with an egg, ham, cheese, cucumbers, and sauce. There's no need to heat it up because its meant to be served cold. It was very tasty. In the picture with a bottle in it, that is actually Calypys (Cowpist). Wait! Don't start thinking that I drank Cowpist. For some reason, the company's name is Calypys. This is a milky white water with a citrous taste. It wasn't bad at all. Enjoy these pics, there are more coming.

The Arrival to Japan.

On August 20th, 2008 at 6pm, I arrived at Nagoya Chubu Central Airport. I was happy but tired. The flights altogether were 15 hours long. I was glad to get off that plane though. The president of the company actually picked me and another person up at the Airport. Afterwards, the president took us on a 2 hour drive to our hotel which was called Kanayama Plaza Hotel. I have pictures of the hotel room.
2 words that could best describe Japan are small and narrow. Many things are small here including the hotel rooms and the roads are very narrow which explains why the Japanese drive small cars. Also, my internet access was very limited which was the reason that I wasn't unable to call you all and let you know that I made it safely.

The Countdown

It is now August 10th, 2008. I have 9 days until I'm on that plane heading to Japan. I have finished up my current job as a Sales Supoort specialist. What a relief! I'm free now. I have began packing my things so my apartment is kind of crazy right now. There are boxes everywhere. Some are half empty, half full. Everyday I practice reading Japanese and learning how to read the city names in Japanese on the maps in order to familiarize myself with Hekinan-shi where i'll be living and with the other surrounding cities also. For your enjoyment, here are some of the pictures of Hekinanshi.
